$1 Million Gift from Ladner Family Recognized through Naming at Queen Elizabeth Hospital

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Foundation today announced a generous $1 million gift from Kevin and Kim Ladner to establish the Kevin & Kim Ladner Endowment Fund in honour of their fathers, Cecil Ladner and Francis Reid. This endowment fund is the first of its kind at QEH dedicated to enhancing the care environment and will provide annual income to support upgrades and beautification of hospital spaces, including the cafeteria. In recognition of this extraordinary gift, the Foundation unveiled the naming of the Ladner Reid Commons, a welcoming area that includes The Abegweit Room, a private dining room, music corner, and the creation of an outdoor terrace with seating where staff can enjoy the fresh air during breaks and lunch.

Community spirit awaits teams in Tyne Valley, P.E.I.
This week is about more than just hockey in Tyne Valley, P.E.I.
As play in the Maritime Under-16 AAA hockey championship begins at the Cavendish Farms Community Events Centre on April 8 with an all-P.E.I. clash between the provincial-champion Eastern Dukes and host Western Rebels at 7:30 p.m., visiting teams and fans will be greeted by a high level of community pride over the five-day tournament.

Government of Canada Improves Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services
This past weekend, the Honourable Senator Dr. Kristopher Wells, on behalf of the Honourable Marjorie Michel, Minister of Health, announced an investment of almost $600,000 to support the delivery of inclusive, culturally sensitive SRH services and resources to the communities across the country that need them. The announcement took place at the Positive Light Gala in Edmonton, AB, held in support of building a more inclusive and accepting society for all, including people living with HIV.
