Opportunity Description:

Code Clubs are intended to teach kids aged 8-12 the basics of coding and computational thinking in a fun and safe environment. They are run by volunteers and hosted around PEI at various locations (schools, libraries, UPEI, etc.)**. The coding projects are easy to follow and no prior knowledge of coding is necessary. Kids Code Jeunesse will provide training and resources to help run the clubs. Ideally volunteers will have experience working with children. Volunteering for a code club is a 1 hour a week time commitment for a 6-12 week period. The clubs typically run after school or on weekends. If you are interested in helping to volunteer with a code club, please send an email with your availability and reachable location on PEI and you will be matched to a code club in your region. Police checks are required but are free with a KCJ letter. **Currently, all code clubs have transitioned to online sessions. For online sessions, you will be paired with an established organization (library, youth group, etc.) and can help by instructing online from the comfort of your home!
