National Volunteer Week (April 19 - 25, 2026) is just around the corner! Soon we will come together to celebrate the incredible people who give their time and hearts to make the Prince Edward Island region a better place for everyone. Whether you are walking down Water Street or taking a moment to explore Cavendish Beach, you can feel the positive impact of volunteers all around us.

The true spirit of our community shines through everyday actions. From going about your daily routine to discovering a beloved spot like Basin Head Singing Sands, we all share this wonderful space in Prince Edward Island. Ultimately, it is the quiet, consistent dedication of Islanders that keeps our community thriving.

A Ripple of Kindness

When you give your time, it creates a ripple effect that touches lives in every region. Volunteering is about so much more than just filling an open role. It is about connecting with neighbors, learning new skills, and building a stronger, more resilient community together. We see this magic happen every single day across our local nonprofit organizations, where individuals step up to support one another.

Discover Your Perfect Role

There is a perfect opportunity waiting for you, no matter what your interests or skills might be. You can easily explore upcoming events or browse our interactive community calendar to see what is happening during the big week.

Passionate about nature? Check out our animal care and environment roles. Want to inspire the next generation? We have wonderful children and youth support opportunities. You can promote well-being through health and wellness programs, or help build meaningful connections via social and community service. We even have engaging roles in arts and culture and exciting ways to help with sports and recreation.

Get Ready to Lend a Hand

Before the week officially kicks off, take a few minutes to think about what causes matter most to you. You can read inspiring stories from locals on our community blog or catch up on the latest updates in our news section. If you have questions about how the process works, check out our Frequently Asked Questions, read more about Volunteer PEI, or contact our team (you can also reach us directly at info@volunteerpei.ca).

Let's make this the best volunteer week yet! Spread the word by sharing this post using #VolunteerPEI and encourage everyone you know to participate. Ready to dive right in? Discover local volunteer opportunities today and get ready to lend a hand!
