Tetra is a non-profit organization with the goal of bringing independence and quality of life to Canadians. For over 35 years Tetra’s volunteers have built custom devices that provided our clients with greater independence to pursue activities that they need and want to do.     The Tetra Society has 30 chapters across North America, with 3 chapters in Atlantic Canada – Fredericton, New Brunswick, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and St. John’s, Newfoundland. Each chapter also serves the surrounding areas, reaching individuals in rural areas throughout their respective provinces.

Tetra is searching for a volunteer coordinator to assist in establishing a chapter on Prince Edward Island. Your efforts would include:                                                                                                            – connecting with members of P.E.I’s disabled community (and their representative organizations) to inform and educate them about Tetra’s services.                                                    – recruiting technical volunteers (e.g., expertise in carpentry, metalwork, electrical, needlework, etc.) who would  meet with clients to design and construct/adapt/modify devices as needed. There is no charge for any labour or materials to the client.

This is being offered as a part-time position (12-15 hrs. per month) leading potentially to a paid contract position. Supports (e.g., promotional materials, kilometrage, mentoring, etc.) will be provided to you, the successful candidate.
