The Kidney Foundation of Canada is the leading charity committed to eliminating the burden of kidney disease through: - Funding and stimulating innovative research for better prevention, treatments and a cure; - Providing education and support to prevent kidney disease in those at risk and empower those with kidney disease to optimize their health status; - Advocating for improved access to high quality health care; - Increasing public awareness and commitment to advancing kidney health and organ donation. The Foundation's national research program has grown to become one of the most important sources of funding for scientists conducting kidney-related research. We are also committed to providing education, information and support about kidneys and kidney disease. In order to fund our important work, we operate a diverse mix of fundraising campaigns. These campaigns can also have other important benefits, such as raising awareness. We are proud of the work done by our volunteers and employees, who work collaboratively to reduce the burden of kidney disease.

The Canadian Cancer Society works tirelessly to save and improve lives. We fund the brightest minds in cancer research. We provide a compassionate support system for all those affected by cancer, from coast to coast and for all types of cancer. As the voice for Canadians who care about cancer, we work with governments to establish health policies to prevent cancer and better support those living with the disease.

The Atlantic Summer Institute (ASI) on Healthy and Safe Communities is more than just a conference, it’s a learning Institute, with a “Pathway for Learning” curriculum that offers a Certificate of Participation. The Summer Institute really engages participants, providing them with an opportunity to develop skills, learn and share knowledge and work together on programs, policies and services. Making the links between crime prevention, social and economic development and health and safety promotion, the Institute brings together; community groups, researchers, practitioners, educators, police and government representatives – all the people and sectors that are working toward creating safer and healthier communities in Atlantic Canada. Since 2004, the ASI has held eight successful 4-day Institutes on PEI, which have contributed greatly to collaboration throughout the region. Each Institute has engaged approximately 120 participants from across Atlantic Canada and beyond. The ASI believes in inclusion and reducing barriers to participation; therefore, we offer a number of bursaries/subsidies to participants to help with costs associated with attending the Institute. Simultaneous translation for the ASI is provided in French and English, and aboriginal events are included in the program. The theme for this year’s ASI will be Together Again: Regenerating the Power of Connection. ASI 2022 aims to increase understanding of the importance of infant, child and youth mental health for the whole of society, and foster policy actions to influence upstream investment in support of mental health.

ParaSport and Recreation PEI is the provincial sport governing body for Paralympic sport and parasport on Prince Edward Island. It is a non-profit, charitable organization that was established in 1974. Our mission is providing recreation and sports opportunities for any and all individuals with a physical disability on Prince Edward Island. The organization is led by a volunteer Board of Directors that are elected annually.

The Canadian Red Crosses Emergency Management Program assists Islander's who are experiencing a crisis. Our Volunteers are requested to support at emergency sites by First Responders (Police, Fire, EMS, others) and we provide extended care for up to 72 hours. We ensure that all the basic necessities and needs are being met for those experiencing the emergency. This includes booking accommodations in the event of a serious flood or fire, accessing our budget to offer financial support in replacing lost or damaged clothes, providing funds for the purchase of groceries or other essentials, making referrals, and more. Training to be a Red Cross Emergency Responder is offered through the organization for free and must be completed before being put on rotation. This is a great opportunity for those who seek to make a direct impact in people's lives. The Joyriders is a registered charity celebrating its 45th year in 2024, stronger than ever! Our mission is the enhancement of the physical, emotional and social well-being of children and adults with disabilities through various forms of therapeutic riding. We are a nationally accredited therapeutic riding centre located in Hunter River, offering equestrian programs for health and recreation.

ECOPEI is a registered charitable environmental organization.  We work on a variety of issues, everything for agriculture to energy.  Our main effort is around our Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project, where we teach children and adults about nature, grow plants native to this region, and promote better forest practices.
