The PEI Farm Centre is a non-profit organization that exists to provide space and resources for urban and rural communities. The primary activities of the Centre have evolved over the past 50 years. What began as a facility offering office space to commodity groups and meeting rooms for community events has expanded to become a strategic food hub and therapeutic health centre. Our central location in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, includes a large facility and the largest urban food garden in Canada where people come together to learn, support, and promote the health and well-being of our communities by furthering a better understanding and exchange of views between agricultural, urban, and industrial groups and organizations. In 2014, the Legacy Garden was created on the land immediately behind the Farm Centre. The Garden has grown to become one of the largest urban farms in Canada with over 200 community garden allotments that are rented to community members so they have gardening space to grow their own food, a community food forest and a goodwill garden from which we donate, on average, over 20,000 pounds of food each year to various charities in order to help alleviate food insecurity to the most vulnerable people in our society. We want to do our part to make the community of Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island a more welcoming, inclusive and well-fed place! AFPEI promotes age-friendly activities and initiatives supporting age-friendly living and age-friendly environments for seniors in communities across PEI

Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7 e-mental health service offering free, confidential support to young people in English and French. We began in 1989 as a unique telephone counselling service, launched to provide free, accessible support to any young person reaching out from coast to coast to coast. Our focus was supporting young people experiencing abuse, but almost immediately, young people let us know they needed more from the service than one focus and one way to reach us. For over 30 years, we’ve evolved our response and offerings. We concentrate on staying relevant to youth, recognizing the complexity of issues they face, and we help to ensure our professional counsellors and volunteer crisis responders are ready to address young people’s continuum of emotional and mental health needs, from crisis situations to the everyday concerns of growing up.

The Canadian Red Crosses Emergency Management Program assists Islander's who are experiencing a crisis. Our Volunteers are requested to support at emergency sites by First Responders (Police, Fire, EMS, others) and we provide extended care for up to 72 hours. We ensure that all the basic necessities and needs are being met for those experiencing the emergency. This includes booking accommodations in the event of a serious flood or fire, accessing our budget to offer financial support in replacing lost or damaged clothes, providing funds for the purchase of groceries or other essentials, making referrals, and more. Training to be a Red Cross Emergency Responder is offered through the organization for free and must be completed before being put on rotation. This is a great opportunity for those who seek to make a direct impact in people's lives. Hope Empowers began in 2022 by Patrick Ssenyonjo, who was a child from the slums. With 15 years' experience serving slum children through Raising Up Hope for Uganda, he saw a huge, unmet need to train older street boys with a skill - a 'last chance' opportunity to escape slum life. His vision was a 1-year program to get kids stabilized in a residential setting, teach a vocational skill and resettle them as productive members to their familial community. From here, Hope Empowers was born. Our community outreach quickly found a need to minister to unwed, pregnant girls. The Esuubi (Hope) Program started in August 2022

Gifts From The Heart mandate is serving low-income island residents and those undergoing temporary hardships, for free through love and kindness. Whether it's families facing challenging times, seniors or children with food insecurities, or those facing addiction problems and those unhoused, we seek your support and contribution to make a significant difference. With rising food costs we do our best to make every dollar count. Currently, GFTH is serving over 2,000 families across PEI from our head office and we provide food, furniture, household items, personal items, and all their basic needs. We also have volunteer-manned community fridges in West Royalty, Brackley Point, and Stratford. The recent wave of new immigrants has put more pressure on our services as every day more and more families coming to Canada are requiring our services. Immigrants arriving with limited resources require assistance with basic needs. As a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on the support of generous donors to continue our mission and expand our reach. With the support of our communities and the people of Prince Edward Island and others, we will be able to source healthier food options and be able to serve more families and communities throughout PEI. Funds will be used to purchase essential supplies, and overhead operating costs, support ongoing operations, and provide much-needed support to low-income residents. Your donations and contributions will directly benefit families and individuals across Prince Edward Island and help to keep our doors open.

ElderDog Canada is a federally incorporated, community-based, non-profit and registered charity. Our primary goal is to enable older adults, living at home and with challenges affecting dog care, to continue to benefit from their relationship with their canine companions as long as possible. A second major goal is to find new or temporary homes for dogs left behind by seniors, who must move into a retirement community or nursing home, become ill, or pass away. ElderDog has chapters (or Pawds, as we call them) in communities across Canada - including PEI!
