Students for Herd Immunity is hosting a Health Literacy Designathon for students to learn more about immunization, and work in dynamic teas to propose a novel idea to increase vaccine literacy! The winning team will receive a cash prize of $250, and additional funding and mentorship if they choose to carry out their project. Signup at https://bit.ly/3CTg2Cp by February 3rd at 11:59 PM!   Students for Herd Immunity, founded in March 2021, is a Canadian federally registered non-profit organization working to bridge gaps in vaccine education and engage students to tackle vaccine hesitancy within their local communities.   Through this 2-day virtual Health Literacy Designathon, Students for Herd Immunity aims to provide students with a basic understanding of vaccines and an opportunity to work in dynamic teams to propose innovative solutions for gaps in vaccine education in an effort to increase vaccine literacy. This event will also connect students with their enthusiastic peers across disciplines and geographies to facilitate collaboration that is a cornerstone of any health advocacy work. Finally, this designation will train students in problem-solving, creative thinking, and public speaking to equip them with the transferable skills necessary to succeed in their futures.   Participants of this event will work in small groups of 5 and present their proposals to a panel of judges consisting of leaders in health advocacy. The winning teams will receive prizes and opportunities to work with Students for Herd Immunity to execute their ideas. Bring your friends along and work in groups of 5, or signup solo!
