Parkinson Canada Volunteer Opportunity Pedaling for Parkinson’s Maritimes Ride Parkinson Canada is the definitive voice for the Parkinson’s community in Canada. Our purpose is to transform the lives of people living with Parkinson’s. We do this through research leading to better treatments and the end of Parkinson’s, advocacy bringing the voices of Parkinson’s to the forefront and support that helps people live well with Parkinson’s through education and services. A national registered charity, Parkinson Canada operates through the generosity of donors and is an accredited organization under the Imagine Canada Standards Program. The Opportunity Gear up for Parkinson’s research! Founded by Canadians for Canadians, pedaling for Parkinson’s invites cyclists to ride towards progress by funding research and raising awareness for Parkinson Canada. We are looking for people interested in making a difference to volunteer for our Pedaling for Parkinson’s Maritime ride in Summerside PEI. Your Contribution Your enthusiasm and love for helping others makes you an ideal Pedaling for Parkinson’s volunteer. You are the type of person who would enjoy helping event participants and other volunteers excel at their tasks. There are many exciting roles to choose from the day of the event: Set up & Registration Food prep Rest stops and route marshals Dinner coordinator (set up, directing participants, 50-50 tickets) Anything else that may come up. What is Needed to Succeed in this Role Enjoys working as part of a team Positive and enthusiastic attitude Able and comfortable to spend time outdoors (some roles) Possess an interest in working with Parkinson Canada and with Canadians living with Parkinson’s and their families More information about the event can be found here: Maritimes Ride – Parkinson Canada Benefits for Volunteers As a volunteer for the Maritime Pedaling for Parkinson’s event, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills outside of regular employment. You will work with an excellent group of people and be able to network with others in a related field. Most importantly you will make an impact in the lives of those living with Parkinson’s. Commitment The event takes place September 24th & 25th 2022. The window of volunteer time during those days is 7:30 am-7:00pm. Depending on your role you could be needed at various times throughout that time frame.
