Camp Triumph

  St. John Ambulance volunteers provide over a million hours of volunteer service to Canadian communities each year. Our nationally-recognized core community service programs include: Therapy Dog Program-  Volunteers and their dogs provide regular visitation to hospitals, seniors' residences, nursing homes, or a growing number of institutions on a regular basis. Through petting, affection, and consistent visitation, many people benefit both physically and emotionally from the unconditional love of a dog. Volunteers and their dogs go through an evaluation to ensure they are a comfortable visiting in these environments. Volunteer Medical Responders (VMR)- are a group of uniformed individuals trained to a minimum of Standard First Aid, who volunteer their time to provide First Aid services at a wide variety of public events (sporting, cultural, musical, etc.). By being there, SJA volunteers are “first on the scene” in the critical minutes until medical assistance arrives. We run four three hour duplicate bridge games each week at the Murphy Community Centre. We offer a guaranteed partner, so no one goes home Participants receive their results the same day and any master points they are awarded Games: Mon: 1:00pm, Tues: 7:00pm, Thur: 7:00pm (social game), Sat: 7:00pm.
