Earth Rangers

We conserve, restore and manage wetlands and grasslands to benefit waterfowl, wildlife and people. Our goal is to ensure abundant wetlands and waterfowl for generations to come while improving Canadian lives. Waterfowl are migratory. That’s why our conservation efforts impact diverse areas across the entire country—including your community.

PEI Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Inc. (PEIWRARI) is a registered charitable organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned wildlife across Prince Edward Island (PEI). For more than 50 years, Candy Gallant has been the lady to call when a wild animal is found injured, orphaned, or in distress on Prince Edward Island (PEI). Her home has always been a safe haven to thousands of wild lives receiving her love, care and attention until their release. Through compassionate care, conservation efforts, and public education, PEIWRARI works to ensure that wildlife receives the support needed to recover and return to its natural environment while promoting responsible and informed human-wildlife interactions. Trout River Environmental Committee works to restore and conserve the natural integrity of our nine watersheds, and to promote good environmental stewardship. We operate in the Stanley Bridge to Cavendish area of North Central Prince Edward Island, Canada. Founded in 1993, TREC was incorporated in 1999. Currently, TREC undertakes a range of activities including integrated watershed management, community engagement, and environmental education. TREC is very much a community led group, and we support local farmers, landowners, residents, businesses, and fishers. We are a registered charity, managed by a volunteer board of directors. We employ an Executive Director to manage day-to-day operations, a Project Manager, and students during the summer. To contact the Executive Director, Shayla Steinhoff, e-mail director@troutriverec.ca
