Good afternoon, The Children’s Wish Foundation Prince Edward Island Chapter is currently looking for volunteers to help operate our ice cream booth at the Old Home Week event grounds. We are looking for friendly people with helpful spirits to assist us in this important fundraiser. Below is a description of what Old Home Week is about, as well as what will be required of our volunteers. About Old Home Week: Old Home Week is an annual event held in Charlottetown since 1888. This week long exhibition is a long time-honored island tradition for families and people of all ages.  The Children’s Wish Foundation Prince Edward Island Chapter joins vendors of the fair every year to operate an ice cream booth and a parking lot in order to raise money to grant wishes. About Children’s Wish: We are a non-profit community based organization that works to grant wishes to children between the ages of 3 and 17 who have been diagnosed with high-risk life threatening illnesses. For more information about what we do, please visit http://www.childrenswish.ca/2016/10/19/prince-edward-island-office/ Job Description for Ice Cream Booth Volunteers: Ice Cream Booth attendants are responsible for greeting customers, scooping and serving ice cream, and collecting payment. Our ice cream booth is located inside the Civic (Eastlink) Centre. Ice cream attendants with hair that can be pulled back, are required to wear it back due to health regulations. Volunteers must be English speaking, 16 years of age or older, and be physically capable of standing and scooping ice cream.
