The Community Foundation of Prince Edward Island (CFPEI) is an incorporated, non-profit organization that provides a ‘user-friendly’ vehicle for donors to create endowment funds to support charitable activities. Income generated from these investments is directed through grants and scholarships to support a wide range of diverse needs in Prince Edward Island communities. Because of the permanent nature of these endowments, income is available for now and generations to come. The endowment fund allows the donor to leave a memorial legacy to meet their charitable interests in perpetuity, at minimum cost and maximum convenience. Since its incorporation, the Foundation has worked with donors to establish more than 70 endowment funds; these funds now have a current asset base of over 9 million dollars. This asset base has allowed the Foundation to grant over 2.5 million dollars to worthy community projects and individual scholarships since 1993. In addition to providing a vehicle for donors to create endowments, the Foundation also has a broader community building and leadership role. Some examples of initiatives undertaken by the Foundation in this role include: the Arts and Heritage Stabilization Program; the ‘Building the Capacity of PEI’s Third Sector’ Report; and the Vital Signs Report ‘Taking the Pulse of Island Youth’. How we are unique The Foundation is unique in several ways: - We are donor focused; each endowment fund is customized to respond to the interests and needs of the donor. - We are flexible; if the donor interests change over time, the parameters governing the endowment fund can be modified to reflect these new needs. - Our interests and focus are broad; we have the capacity to respond to and support a wide range of donor and community interests. - We are a registered charity; we can issue tax receipts for endowments and donations, including tax receipts for donations from US citizens. Note: Internal Revenue Service (IRS) receipts are of benefit in certain circumstances; US citizens considering making donations should consult with a US tax planner. Who can benefit The Foundation can be of benefit to: - Individuals who wish to honour someone’s legacy by setting up an endowment fund; the fund could be to honour the memory of a family member, or recognize someone who has made a important contribution to his/her community. - Community groups, organizations, and businesses who have a passion about an issue or concern, or a particular area within the Island community. - Professional groups and service providers such as lawyers, financial planners, advisors, and accountants who offer estate planning, tax planning, and financial investment services. The Foundation may be an appropriate vehicle to help clients achieve their financial investment, tax planning, and estate planning goals. - Various levels of governments who find themselves acting as trustees or ‘hosts’ for particular trust or endowment funds; or who wish to recognize the work of a citizen who has made a special contribution to particular initiative, or who has made a significant contribution toward enhancing the quality of life within their own, or the Island, community.

The Friends of the Confederation Centre was established in 1965 when the Centre was built. The mandate of the "Friends" is to encourage interest, education  and participation in the arts and to support the goals of the Confederation Centre of the Arts. The Friends have several programs  and activities: Art To The Schools, Arts Scholarship Program for Island students, Pinch Penny Fair, Mayflower Art Auction, Annual Festive Wreath Exhibit  and Contest  and Friends Festival of Trees in addition to participating in various  fundraising. and community outreach initiatives.

The PEI Farm Centre’s Legacy Garden is situated on 8.5 acres of farmland (zoned agricultural) located in the heart of Charlottetown. Our bio-diverse orchard (food forest garden) contains a mix of fruit and nut trees and a large variety of berries, herbs, and flowers. The Garden includes a two-acre, ‘Goodwill Garden' which supplies fresh, naturally grown produce to a variety of local organizations.

The ReStore is a home décor,  building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used items. Proceeds from the ReStore fund Habitat for Humanity PEI, which constructs Habitat homes for hard-working low income families in the province. Supporting the ReStore helps deserving Island families achieve the dream of home ownership.

All Things Active PEI is a social media presence promoting an active, healthy lifestyle for residents of Prince Edward Island. It does so by raising awareness of various events and programs happening in the community that ties into this healthy lifestyle. ATAPEI is present on Facebook and Instagram, hosting contests giving away hundreds of dollars in prizes and gym memberships. It also hosts Instagram "takeovers" every Friday where fitness hubs, restaurants, and active people can promote their businesses. ATAPEI manager, Cassandra Bernard, also tries a new fitness class every week or two and reviews them online, encouraging others to try new activities in the province.

WHO WE ARE: Island Nature Trust is a membership-based, non-government, Canadian charity dedicated to land conservation in Prince Edward Island since 1979. We envision a future where P.E.I. has a network of protected, robust natural areas championed by knowledgeable, engaged Islanders. WHAT WE DO: Island Nature Trust acquires, manages and protects forever a network of connected natural areas throughout PEI for the benefit of wildlife and people. We are a key provider of technical, science-based knowledge on land stewardship and wildlife in PEI for landowners, governments and partner environmental groups. We provide mentorship and employment opportunities to people committed to land stewardship, conservation research and wildlife monitoring who will continue building on the long tradition of Island Nature Trust as the premiere land trust on the Island.

Project Tech Conferences (PTC) is a student run nonprofit organization that runs events for high school and middle school students on topics in technology. We strive to inspire and empower the next generation of programmers by providing students with opportunities to discover the world of technology. Beyond fulfilling our mission through our Conferences, Outreach, Hackathons, and Newsletter portfolios, we strive to empower our youth volunteers through hands-on experience in areas such as marketing, finance, and graphic design. PTC P.E.I is a brand-new conference committee established this year with the goal of providing students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience, earn volunteer hours, and strengthen their soft skills!

We are a non-profit amateur sports organization that teaches children how to skate and we provide programs in learning the sport of speed skating.

Triathlon PEI is the provincial sport governing body, dedicated to the growth, development and promotion of triathlon, duathlon, aquathon and winter triathlon in Prince Edward Island. Triathlon PEI is committed to fostering health and wellness through the sport of triathlon (swimming, cycling and running) for all athletes, regardless of skill or age. One of our key goals is maximizing participation in Triathlon and multisport activities from youth and grass roots to elite levels in Prince Edward Island. We believe this will be an exceptional year as we have numerous development programs, a race series and events for all ages.

The Sherwood Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association (SPRMHA), which draws its players from Sherwood and surrounding rural communities within its boundaries, is a local minor hockey association. The Association is made up of about 450 members aged from 4 years old to 18 years old. There are several male and female divisions at various levels of play. Hockey PEI and Hockey Canada govern the Association. The purpose of the Association (SPRMHA) is to organize, develop, and promote minor hockey within our communities. SPRMHA will strive to provide quality leadership at all levels and create an understanding of teamwork and sportsmanship in an atmosphere of fun and positive reinforcement for all players and volunteers.

The PEI Farm Centre is a non-profit organization that exists to provide space and resources for urban and rural communities. The primary activities of the Centre have evolved over the past 50 years. What began as a facility offering office space to commodity groups and meeting rooms for community events has expanded to become a strategic food hub and therapeutic health centre. Our central location in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, includes a large facility and the largest urban food garden in Canada where people come together to learn, support, and promote the health and well-being of our communities by furthering a better understanding and exchange of views between agricultural, urban, and industrial groups and organizations. In 2014, the Legacy Garden was created on the land immediately behind the Farm Centre. The Garden has grown to become one of the largest urban farms in Canada with over 200 community garden allotments that are rented to community members so they have gardening space to grow their own food, a community food forest and a goodwill garden from which we donate, on average, over 20,000 pounds of food each year to various charities in order to help alleviate food insecurity to the most vulnerable people in our society. We want to do our part to make the community of Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island a more welcoming, inclusive and well-fed place! Come volunteer in our good will garden or in our therapeutic horticulture program!

Hospice PEI is a community of caring individuals making each day count for Islanders and their families through our volunteer led hospice support, comfort, and care programs, as well as advocacy and education for quality palliative and hospice care. We also support Island families after a loved one’s death through our grief support services.
