Results is an advocacy nonprofit that believes in mobilizing everyday people (our volunteers) to generate the political will to end extreme poverty in low-and middle-income countries. We focus our work on global health, access to quality education and economic opportunities. We direct our energy and efforts at government decision makers like party leaders, Members of Parliament and senators because they have the power to improve policies and make the monetary investments needed to end extreme poverty. We also raise awareness by writing letters to the editor (LTEs) and op-eds, using social media, fundraising and more. Oftentimes the first step is putting these issues on the radar — and keeping the pressure on. It might seem like a small step, but it all adds up into impact. commitment: 1 year minimum, 1-2 hours per week on average support structure: Volunteers (virtually) meet in local groups on a monthly basis and rely on their group leader(s) for guidance. Attending other virtual calls and webinars led by Results staff is recommended. If you’re ready to learn about advocacy, causes and solutions to extreme poverty and committed to taking action every month, join us!

Volunteers Needed Tetra Society PEITetra Society consists of volunteers who design and build solutions for children and adults with physical disabilities. These solutions are custom-made for each client and help them overcome environmental barriers, achieve independence, and participate in education, employment, sports, and leisure activities. Tetra clients tell us about their unique needs. Our volunteers then design custom devices that are not available for purchase in stores because they are so unique, or they are too expensive to buy. As a non-profit organization, Tetra raises funds and covers the cost of the materials and travel to the client for up to $500 per project. Activities that most people take for granted are difficult for people with physical disabilities. With your time and skill and Tetra Society resources, you can help our clients to participate in these activities. To learn more about what we do, visit us at: http://www.tetrasociety.org/ or on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/TetraAtlantic
Movers and Drivers are the backbone of the organization, as they carry out the mission on the ground by moving clients’ belongings to safety. In a group of 2-7 movers/drivers, guided by a detailed itinerary, volunteers will load/unload the client’s belongings into a vehicle and transport the client to the predetermined location. Rental vehicles are provided for the move, and movers who have a valid driver’s license are welcome to register as drivers. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a significant impact through volunteering their time in a hands-on capacity for small chunks of time. The duration of each move varies, with an average of about 4-6 hours long from the vehicle rental pick-up time. Each move will be characterized based on the risk level and accordingly be escorted by local police, security guards, or neither. Our moves will often entail driving within and sometimes outside of the city. Further information will be shared with volunteers on a per-move basis. With our flexible volunteering model, you can sign up to volunteer on moves according to your availability.

I am coordinating a 3 day visit of the Peace Run to PEI end of May/Beginning of June. Please have a look at our website www.peacerun.org to get a good idea about what we are doing. We have 4 visits to schools set up during that time. We will run with the peace torch in urban and rural areas, offering the torch to anyone who wants to add their wishes or prayers for Peace. Prior to the actual Peace Run events in PEI, I would like to visit PEI for 3 days in early May (as early as possible) to search for and arrange 3 locations for an inauguration of 3 Peace Parks, which would take place during the 3 day Peace Run torch relay in PEI. This is the goal. I need a good driver with a car who would be willing to spend 3 days on the road, who is interested in supporting this particular cause. I will pay for all the gas. I would be arriving and leaving from the Charlottetown Airport. I would coordinate the precise dates with the volunteer. If you are inspired to volunteer for this request and or if you want more clarification about what will be needed, please write to me, Sutapa Adelman at sjcadelman@bell.net. If you would like to apply for this volunteer position please tell me a little about yourself.Thank you very much.
