Through a variety of fun experiences with friends, outdoor adventures and contributions to their community, help kids build resilience and skills that set them up for life! Yes, you can be a SECTION SCOUTER to help run meetings but there's other opportunities open too to help you find your fit. MAKE A REAL CONTRIBUTION Through passion and dedication, volunteers collectively donate over two million hours of their time each year along with other Scouters, providing youth with the opportunity to grow, to challenge themselves and to experience countless firsts. With their commitment to Scouting, volunteers help us bring our Vision of youth making meaningful contributions to creating a better world to life by lifting people, communities and neighbourhoods. MORE DETAILS All Activity Leaders are screened by Scouts Canada safety policy. Through the training process you will discover more on your own strengths, build confidence and try new things! Volunteers can be aged 14 and older. These volunteer hours count towards the Student Community Service Bursary (CSB) offered by the Province of PEI. Training hours also count towards Early Childhood Educator Record of On-going Training Hours.
Results Canada Fellow - ending extreme poverty

Description: Join the next cohort of the Results Canada Education and Advocacy Fellowship Program! It is a 11-month hands-on advocacy and leadership training program for volunteers that will develop their skills in generating the political will to end extreme poverty in low- and middle-income countries. It is open to individuals aged 18 years and older who are based in Canada. Learn more: https://resultscanada.ca/fellowship/ The Fellowship provides training and support to speak powerfully, engage with the media, speak directly with parliamentarians, and mobilize your community to make change. Commitment: dedicate 4-6 hours per week, including homework and a 90-minute call on the first Tuesday of each month throughout 2024. Deadline: October 31, 2023. Early applications are strongly encouraged as space is limited and applicants are interviewed on a rolling basis. Description: The East Coast Music Awards: Festival and Conference (ECMA) is a five-day, non-stop musical celebration showcasing and recognizing the best of East Coast artists and music. This year, ECMA is heading back to Prince Edward Island for our 36th year, bringing hundreds of Atlantic Canadian artists, industry professionals, Canadian and international delegates, and music fans together for an exciting week of events including our flagship award show, festival showcases, conference sessions, a Fan Fest, and so much more. Don't miss any of the action - join us in the host city of Charlottetown, PE, as we light up the stages with East Coast music from May 1 - 5, 2024! Of course, this event is not possible without the tremendous help of our Volunteers! We're so grateful to have individuals donate their valuable time to make this event a reality. Canada has some of the world’s highest rates, and it is growing quickly. People living with Parkinson’s are at the centre of everything we do at Parkinson Canada. We provide education and services, and we advocate with federal, provincial, and territorial governments on issues that matter to the Parkinson’s community in Canada. The Parkinson Research Program funds innovative research to search for better treatments and a cure. People living with Parkinson’s count on us to be there at every step of their Parkinson’s journey. The Opportunity The volunteer Parkinson Advisory Council (PAC) contributes to furthering the Parkinson Canada mission by actively advising the CEO, to ensure the voices of people living with Parkinson’s, and those affected by Parkinson’s, are integrated throughout the organization. The PAC is a critical driver of putting people living with Parkinson’s at the centre of Parkinson Canada’s work. Currently, we have multiple membership openings for three-year terms on the PAC. Members meet once per month to advise the CEO with an overall time commitment of 2 to 4 hours each month. We would like to encourage applications from those living in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. You will also receive a grant of up to $500 (or more, depending on your project details) to fund your project. You can run a basketball tournament to bring youth together and promote physical exercise, you can host a video game night to help others destress, you can start a community library box to encourage reading, or you can do just about anything else you think of. *Check out this website to see more awesome community projects that you can do!
