Lawn Summer Nights Charlottetown Committee Member

Description: Lawn Summer Nights Charlottetown is looking for enthusiastic volunteers interested in building their resume with a committee role position. LSN is a nonprofit organization with events across Canada. We organize lawn bowling tournaments that fundraise for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Our events are typically geared toward young professionals, between the ages of 25-35, who organize teams, come up with fun team names and costumes, and lawn bowl for a cure! Each local event is organized by a local volunteer committee, and the Charlottetown committee is recruiting volunteers who are interested in event logistics, sponsorship, finance, communications, and more.

Volunteer Advisory Committee Member - EMC TeleHealth Patient and Family Advisory Committee

Description:   Volunteer Advisory Committee Member   (EMC TeleHealth Patient and Family Advisory Committee) Our health care system learns from your experience. Help us shape the future.   Emergency Medical Care Inc. has made a commitment to involve citizens in establishing priorities and making decisions that matter to them and impact their lives, our community and the sustainability of our health care system. The EMC TeleHealth Patient and Family Advisory Committee is committed to providing excellent care for the patients and families of our communities. We are looking for Patient and Family Advisors to provide input to our TeleHealth Services. We are seeking 2-4 community-minded individuals to bring a patient and/or family/caregiver point of view and voice. No special knowledge or skills are needed. The ideal person is someone who can use their experience as a patient or family member/caregiver to help shape the care we provide. Those selected will have one or more of the qualifications below: Personal or family/caregiver experience with TeleHealth Services (Nova Scotia 811, Prince Edward Island 811, Nova Scotia Gambling Support Network, Tobacco Free Nova Scotia) within the last 12 months. Be 18 years of age or older. Can look at issues from more than one point of view. Can share honest points of view in a respectful way. Be reflective of diverse populations and perspectives in our community. Previous volunteer experience is an asset. Interested in making a positive contribution to health care services.   Additional requirements: Sign a confidentiality agreement. Have or be willing to obtain a Criminal Background Check. Declare any potential conflicts of interest. Be available to attend daytime and/or evening meetings in Dartmouth with an option of attending remotely by Webex/teleconference. Be able to commit to attend (3-6) meetings annually. Meetings are typically held in Dartmouth (Webex/Teleconference an option) during daytime business hours.   Please note: These are volunteer positions. Current EMC staff, community health board members and elected officials are not eligible to apply. Interview about the Temporary Foreign Worker Program

We are looking for volunteers to participate in an interview about their experiences with the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). Interviews last 30 to 60 minutes and are by phone or Skype. We will ask you questions about your work, how you were recruited, and whether you think any changes need to be made to the TFWP. Interviews are confidential. You don’t have to use your real name, or give us any personal information you don’t want to share. In recognition of your time, you’ll receive $50.

Subaru of Charlottetown Trilobster Triathlon

Description: Subaru of Charlottetown Trilobster Triathlon takes place in Summerside Sunday, August 18 from 7:00 am -1:00 and Trilobster Kids of Steel Triathlon takes place at Credit Union Place from 2:00- 3:30 We need 65 volunteers to help with registration check in, manning turnaround points, road crossings on the race course, passing out medals, supervising the food and water for the finish line

Volunteer for the 2019 Atlantic Cup Speed Skating Championships

Description: Speed Skate PEI will be holding the 2019 Atlantic Cup Speed Skating Championships on Nov. 9 and 10 in Charlottetown this year and we need your help. We need a great team of volunteers to help make this years competition a success. The Atlantic Cup is one of the best competitions held in the Maritimes and we would love to have a some great people to help make it one of the best yet.  No experience necessary. We are looking for: Line Judges  Manual Timers Track Steawards (must be an experienced skater) Heat box Attendants  Runners Hospitality Room help Our Hospitality room will be available to all volunteers so lunch and snacks will be provided.  Competition runs starts around 7:45am and end around 4-5pm on both days.  Whether you can help for one day or both days we would love to have your help. Whether you have experience or not we will be happy to find a great spot for you. This is great opportunity to learn a little more about the "Fastest human powered sport in the world". Isolation Run Support Team

Description: REMOTE VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY Stuck at home or with limited opportunity to go anywhere? Are you itching to help give back to the many health care workers and hospitals who need donations and awareness more than ever? Good Times Running has come up with yet another great idea to allow just about anyone in Canada who are able to run indoors or outdoors while we get through these challenging times.  The Isolation Run has launched with an ambitious goal to raise $1 million dollars across Canada and potentially in other English-speaking markets through a mass fundraiser. To date, we have raised over $2,300 in the first week with 16 hospitals onboard.   We are looking for individuals to support in the following areas but not limited to: - social media marketing - outreach by phone and/or email - creative strategy, ideas and ways to engage partners, ambassadors and others wanting to get involved - fundraising experience - public relations and/or marketing support - sponsorship, sales and outreach - administrative duties such as answering emails and following up with participants - some back-end, light website duties (maintenance, upgrades and additions to the website, photo gallery, etc.) How to Apply / Contact Please include a Cover Letter with updated resume and two methods of contact, phone and email to isolationrun@goodtimesrunning.ca. PTC P.E.I Conference Team Co-President

Description: Are you looking for volunteer opportunities or leadership experience and have a passion or interest in tech? Project Tech Conferences presents our newest region, PTC P.E.I, where students will have the opportunity to plan a one-day conference for high school and middle school students on topics in tech. Our team in P.E.I will consist of 7 members who are in charge of planning two conferences in P.E.I.  To apply you must be enrolled in a high school, college, or university in P.E.I for the 2020 - 2021 academic year and have a basic interest in technology however, no background is required. As the Co-president, you are expected to commit 5 hours a week and commit for the full year (August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021). The Co-president oversees the executive team, establishes a vision for the group to follow, and runs committee and subcommittee meetings. They also manage the search for guest speakers. If you are a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership and communication skills (oral and written) this role is perfect for you! Prior event planning or management experience is an asset.
