Description: Volunteer from anywhere in PEI. Programs offered in English and French. No coding experience required! Experience teaching or working with kids a plus. 1. KCJ WORKSHOP MENTOR: Do you enjoy the world of education and are looking for ways to give back to the community? Helping children to learn to code in the classroom is an extremely rewarding experience, especially when the “Aha, I get it!” moments occur – both from the children and the teachers. We’re looking for volunteer mentors to help in the classrooms, at workshops, and at teacher training events by instructing or supporting instructors. 2. KCJ EVENT AMBASSADOR: Are you passionate about children learning to code? If you enjoy networking with community leaders at Meetups, tech conferences, gaming conventions, university fairs and special events then we would ask you to become a representative for Kids Code Jeunesse and Code Club Canada. 3. LEAD A CODE CLUB Code Club Canada is powered by KCJ and part of the larger international Raspberry Pi community. We'll help match you with a community venue - libraries, schools, community centres. Once signed up you will receive Code Club material, like posters and door signs. On CodeClub.ca you can access dozens of activities to keep you and the kids busy. This is a larger commitment - 8-12+ weeks - but you'll have quite a bit of instructing autonomy and really have the chance to make a difference!

Children's Wish Foundation Ice Cream Booth - Old Home Week 2018

Description: Good afternoon, The Children’s Wish Foundation Prince Edward Island Chapter is currently looking for volunteers to help operate our ice cream booth at the Old Home Week event grounds. We are looking for friendly people with helpful spirits to assist us in this important fundraiser. Below is a description of what Old Home Week is about, as well as what will be required of our volunteers. About Old Home Week: Old Home Week is an annual event held in Charlottetown since 1888. This week long exhibition is a long time-honored island tradition for families and people of all ages.  The Children’s Wish Foundation Prince Edward Island Chapter joins vendors of the fair every year to operate an ice cream booth and a parking lot in order to raise money to grant wishes. About Children’s Wish: We are a non-profit community based organization that works to grant wishes to children between the ages of 3 and 17 who have been diagnosed with high-risk life threatening illnesses. For more information about what we do, please visit http://www.childrenswish.ca/2016/10/19/prince-edward-island-office/ Job Description for Ice Cream Booth Volunteers: Ice Cream Booth attendants are responsible for greeting customers, scooping and serving ice cream, and collecting payment. Our ice cream booth is located inside the Civic (Eastlink) Centre. Ice cream attendants with hair that can be pulled back, are required to wear it back due to health regulations. Volunteers must be English speaking, 16 years of age or older, and be physically capable of standing and scooping ice cream. Distribute thousands of books to kids in need

Description: First Book Canada is coming to P.E.I. to distribute thousands of books for kids in need to build their home libraries and we need your help! Volunteers will help sort and prepare books for First Book Canada registered members to pick and pack books to bring back to their community program or schools. These books will then be distributed to the kids to take home. Volunteer tasks include: lifting boxes, sorting books by title and age, managing line-ups, assisting members in bringing books to their vehicle.

Harness the Hope Committee Members Needed!

Walk so Kids Can Talk- Volunteer Oppourtunity

Kids Help Phone volunteers are an important part of the Walk and form the backbone of what we do, on Walk day and every day. Without you, we couldn’t fulfill our promise to always be there for kids. So please join us for a fun and inspirational day!   Volunteer Positions: Set Up Helps with setting up site and route for event day. Note: Some sites may require set up on the day before the event (Saturday, May 4). Registration: Confirms pledge forms and online fundraising amounts. Issues fundraising rewards coupons to walkers. Fundraising Rewards: Reviews fundraising reward coupons and issues rewards to walkers. Food: Helps with distributing lunch and snacks to walkers. Volunteer For The Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign!

Description: If you're looking for a short-term yet impactful volunteer opportunity, consider volunteering your time during the month of April for The Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil campaign. From April 11- 20, live daffodils are being sold at participating retail locations across Prince Edward Island and we're in urgent need of volunteers to help coordinate the sales! What's expected of you?
